Program Details

The Digital Media Studies (DMS) program provides an academic pathway for international and resident students. This program equips students with the competencies needed in digital media while offering valuable work experience in the field. Upon completion, students can pursue further academic opportunities or follow a career path in digital media.

The DMS program covers the dynamic interrelationship between digital media, information technology, and new media design. Students will enhance their English skills while gaining theoretical knowledge and practical experience in digital media.

Admission Requirements

    • Eligibility: 19 Years old | Higher Secondary | Diploma | Undergraduate students
    • Language requirement:
  • English 12 (pass); or

        • PTE Academic (Minimum 46 Overall); or

Study Abroad Option

Students have the unique opportunity to start their program in the UAE and complete it in Canada, providing an international perspective and experience in both regions.

01
6 Months of classroom instruction at PLC covering Social Media Marketing, Academic Writing II, and Public Speaking – Presentation Skills II. The focus will also include Information Systems, Digital Media and Society, and Digital Branding.
02
6 months of work-study at the industry partner’s digital media or IT department focusing on practical skills. This hands-on experience will reinforce classroom learning and provide real-world applications.
03
6 Months of classroom instruction at PLC RAK focusing on advanced digital media techniques, including Search Engine Optimization, Career Development, and Project Marketing – Advertising. Additional subjects include Digital Media Design. Opportunity to continue the third semester in Canada.
04
6 months of work-study at the industry partner’s digital media department in UAE/ Canada with a focus on leadership roles and management responsibilities. Capstone project on creating a comprehensive digital media campaign for a real-world client, and End Practical Exam.
